About

Ben Nunney
Welcome to The Open Bracket!

I’m an Academic Developer Evangelist at Microsoft – which basically means that I get to work with students and academics, showing them how to use our developer tools & technologies to make really cool stuff.

In my less geeky moments I love to travel, and with that has come a lot of inspiration – I enjoy writing poetry, music, and trying my somewhat unsteady hand at photography. I’m also involved in Scouting, like doing stuff for charity, and help to run a few local events now and then.

In various other lives I’ve done work in digital media, software development, network infrastucture and broadcasting; and I love speaking on my various areas of interest – come and say hi next time I’m at an event near you.

I can often be found playing incredibly poorly on Xbox LIVE under the gamertag SumoWombat, so feel free to join me for a game sometime. I can also be found on Twitter and other social media outlets under the name bennuk – so if the ramblings on my blog aren’t quite enough, you can follow me there too.

I currently live in Reading, Berkshire with my partner and several mini babybel. I’m a PC… but given the choice, I’d settle for a pie. I really, really like pie.
